Job scope
- CrestOptics is looking for a motivated and dynamic person, capable of working in a multidisciplinary team covering optics, mechanics, electronics and biological applications
- Main activities will be the design and development of new optical systems including their industrialization and optimization cooperation with R&D, Production, Production Marketing and Customer Service
- The role requires the ability to develop complex optical instrumentation, starting from architecture definition, through prototyping, testing, validation of specification and release to production.
- In detail should be able to design himself the optical parts and drive the electronic and mechanical departments in the right direction, integrating all components in a working device that meets specifications.
- Role will report to Head of Optical team.
Requirements
Must
- At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in designing optical products in R&D environment
- Master degree in Physics or Engineering with specialization in optics.
- Ability to design optical systems with custom and off the shelf components
- Experience in driving Product Development through typical phases: Proof of Concept, product definition, prototypes cycles, pilot and release to production
- Innovation and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing external research and design companies and suppliers
- Experience in product industrialization
- Ability to evaluate and suggest internal vs external development, driving external suppliers
- Hands-on approach: laboratory experience needed.
- Knowledge of
a)Optical modelling software (Zemax, Optalix, Code V, etc.)
b)Programming/Scripting capabilities for system testing and validation (matlab, phyton, java, C, C++) - Proficient in English (B1/B2 level or equivalent)
Nice to have
- Previous experience in Optics for Biological Application, Microscopy, Spectroscopy techniques
- 2.Knowledge of Mechanical CAD (Solidworks, Pro-E , etc)
