TissueFAXS confocal product line combines high-throughput slide scanning with fast confocal imaging.

TissueGnostics, a leader in high-content imaging, partnered with CrestOptics, experts in confocal microscopy, to enhance their widefield imaging systems with advanced confocal capabilities. As researchers seek deeper insights into the confocality and 3D structure of their samples, this collaboration integrated and adapted the X-Light V2 confocal module by CrestOptics into the TissueFAXS product line, delivering superior imaging performance and more detailed sample analysis.

More specifically, CrestOptics played a key role in the development of the system by providing an advanced confocal module designed for seamless operation in both upright and inverted configurations. At TissueGnostics’ request, motorized filter wheels, including the motorized excitation filter wheel, were implemented to address customer needs for increased excitation lines. This enhancement allows users to work with more than five channels, enabling deeper insights and richer sample data.

For the upright configuration, a custom-designed support arm was co-validated to ensure safe installation and maintain long-term alignment, adding stability and reliability to the system. The remote start-up function was specifically implemented to improve accessibility for operators, making the system easier to use and more convenient in varied environments.

These systems also include a motorized fast disk-out function, a single pinhole pattern spinning disk for a large field of view, and a high-speed 15,000 RPM spinning disk. User-friendly tools for filter insertion and removal, along with precise detector focal plane adjustments without moving the detector, contribute to ease of use and efficiency.

This global collaboration between CrestOptics and TissueGnostics, covering both pre-sales and post-sales phases, ensures that these systems meet the precise needs of researchers and clinicians, delivering cutting-edge technology and a superior user experience.
