Laura Ferrucci

After earning my degree in Neurobiology at Sapienza University of Rome, I pursued a PhD focused on studying communication between glial cells and neurons. Using electrophysiology and confocal microscopy, I was able to explore the intricate cellular processes that underlie neural communication.

I joined CrestOptics in early 2024 and work as Application Specialist, demonstrating our microscopy systems to customers and working with researchers to help them make the most of our technology. I love that my role keeps me connected to the world of research while allowing me to travel and introduce our products to Universities and Research Institutions worldwide.

What fascinates me the most is the ability to visually explore, down to the smallest details, the biological phenomena I studied. That is why working in the field of microscopy feels like the perfect continuation of my academic journey, combining my scientific curiosity with the excitement of hands-on innovation.
